About Amy Bun
Amy earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and holds Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she gained valuable experience as a staff nurse in both a psychiatric emergency setting and an inpatient psychiatric facility. Throughout her career, Amy has provided compassionate care to diverse patients dealing with complex medical and psychiatric conditions.
In her practice, Amy prioritizes evidence-based approaches that are tailored to each individual's unique lifestyle, family, and cultural background. She often asks herself, "If this were my family member, what kind of care would I want for them?" This approach guides her in assisting individuals to find the most effective treatment plan, which may involve collaborating with other providers and therapists as needed.
Amy's areas of expertise include trauma-based conditions, cross-generational conflicts in minority populations, anxiety, and mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorders. Her dedication to mental health extends beyond her work hours, as she actively volunteers in her community, supporting mental health centers and participating in her local National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) chapter.
